Last fall I was honored to photograph the National Convention for the Fleet Reserve Association. The Fleet Reserve Association represent the US Marine Corp, Navy and Coast Guard. This event for them is much like a prom or the most formal event of the year, as described by my contact with the FRA. The night started out great, it was hosted at the Double Tree and began with a formal portrait of each recipient, see samples below, about 30 people were involved in the events separate from operational staff. After that followed a formal capping ceremony where those who receive awards are capped by family members or loved ones. This ceremony was about an hour long and was very neat, as I am a generation away from my family who served, so it gave me an eye into the life and families of those who serve. After the formal ceremony we went back to the set and I captured a group portrait of both the FRA and the LAFRA. I hope to do more work like this in the future, so if you have a formal event or conference that you would like documented in a professional matter, give me a call!
