Recently I purchased some new gear and loved it so much that I figured that it deserved a review!
It should be noted that unless you buy the Kit, you will need to purchase the Radio Popper Receiver as well.
Setup took seconds and was extremely easy, basic plug and play, which is a must for this type of photography. Make sure that you have the transmitter on before you turn the einstein on with the receiver. Also make sure that the channels and groups match on the transmitter and receiver/einstein.
This is my immediate review of the Radio Popper Einstein Kit. I am super happy thus far with the unit and the initial testing which you see in the video.
I was using the Buff commander but was unhappy with the build quality and the over complicated controls that transmitter had. I ended up not using it and left it in my bag 95% of the time.
This system is unique in the way that its simple, and only controls power output of the strobe. Increments are 1/3 or 1/10 stops. So you can change it ultra fast or just fast. The scroll wheel is a great addition, it makes changes super fluid and easy. I’m really enjoying the AAA power as the previous units had a battery that was harder to replace if you could find them.
There is also a lock function that is easy to due.
I’m going to be testing the triggering distance tomorrow so be sure to look for that video
I am super happy with this product thus far and if you are using einstein’s on location like I am then this product is probably what you are looking for.
