This is was a project of mine I shot with Josh who is pictured. I wanted to do some lighting tricks on a car and he was up for the task. Both of these photos were taken with my Einstein strobes. The car image in particular is the more complicated photo. Since I don’t have a truck full of lights I had to do what some call flash painting to light the car. Flash painting is using one strobe or flash to light one section of a photo and then moving the strobe to light another section, until the whole scene has been lit in sections. Once I have all of the sections of the scene that I need I open the files in a stack in Photoshop and begin bringing in the different sections in usings masks to paint in the lit areas. In the end this shot had about 20 layers in all. Also Check out Josh Tyler Design http://www.joshtylerdesign.com/.
