So a huge part of being a spokane portrait photographer is the background in the photo.
For me I really don’t like a background thats too “There”, what I mean by that is in the northwest we have so many trees, trees are busy, buildings are busy stripes, lines and bright colors are busy. This day I made it a mission to go out and just shoot to shoot. It paid off, I was able to eat lunch with a friend and shortly after freeze my tail off! I think it was about 41 degrees outside, warm compared to this weeks mid 20’s. But like I was saying this trip paid off, I met a girl who was doing a video on Art and she had some questions for me and I talked in front of the camera for a minute or two expressing my thoughts on the subject.
I also met a few people who asked me to take their portrait (That reminds me I need to send some photos out!) the first portrait encounter downtown had me and the other guy trying to think of a song which then we asked another person and he was also trying to figure it out. It was a short but neat experience of communication and teamwork, to say the least. We never did figure out the song: Take A Picture . I’m thoroughly glad I did that trip downtown at this moment, Thanks guy who was downtown the other day!
I walked a round the block and saw a few fire trucks and Po-Po racing around to a building across from the Davenport Hotel. There was in fact a fire downtown which I documented somewhat not too exciting although they did have the ladder out! I couldn’t tell what was going on till I went around the building to the back side to see some burn marks and firefighters on the roof. I shortly thereafter met Mickael who was downtown with some friends hanging out. He also asked me to take his photo, at first I was just cold and wanted to go home and responded less friendly than I actually am. I ended up taking his photo.
Sometimes I just need to go out and do something different like walk downtown in the uber cold weather for absolutely no reason other than taking photos. I hope that you enjoy these photos.
