This is a Photography Portrait of my friend Austin, I did for him while he was in Spokane. Austin is an 800 Meter Track Specialist. This was one of my first portraits while I was in school learning about portraiture and shaping the face using light and light modifiers. This specific Head Shot was taken during a photography demo on catchlights. Catchlights are the highlights in the eyes; without catchlights eye appear empty and lifeless. This portrait was lit using Soft-box, 1-umbrella, and a 7″ reflector for the background. ISO100 f-8.0 S-1/250th 68MM Canon 60D 17-85mm f-4-5.6. Post processed to bring down the reds in the skin tone, something camera sensors don’t handle too well. Clarity was increased to bring out texture in the hair and skin and give the photo a Rugged-Grudge feel. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
